Carlos Fish was born in Paris, France, but raised and educated in Louisville, Kentucky. He started drawing as a child and entered a school wide mascot drawing contest at Lymond T.Johnson middle school (formally Parkland Junior High).Placing 2nd only because, at that time, he would only use pencil. The contest called for the eagle mascot to be in color. But he was still inspired by my 2nd place finish. He soon began to wonder why others struggled to do this when he easily drew fully shadowed drawings. He began to realize that something was different about me.
He has two works in the National Civil Rights Museum and recently placed 2nd in the Ashland area art show. Several of my portraits were purchased by Jefferson County Board of Education, most notably a portrait of Robert Stopher which hangs in the entrance of Stopher Elementary School.
